Our team aims to provide a platform for professionals around the world to exchange state-of-the-art blockchain, energy, and environmental research and development and identify research needs and opportunities to reinforce the structure of sustainability in a digital world. Nir Kshetri is Professor at University of North Carolina-Greensboro, USA. He has authored twelve books and about 200 academic articles. His books and articles have been translated into Arabic, Chinese, German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Portuguese and other languages. He has been ranked among the world’s top 0.03% researchers in the 2021 list of the World’s Top Researchers by Stanford University. Nir’s work has been featured by hundreds of media outlets such as Wall Street Journal, Foreign Policy, The Economist, Al Jazeera, Public Radio International, Scientific American, and Bloomberg TV. He has provided consulting services to Asian Development Bank, the Commonwealth Secretariat, various UN agencies and a number of private companies. He is a two-time TEDx speaker about the roles of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6da0kEfBsY&t=590s ) and blockchain in fighting poverty (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDo_Jlov9R4). Nir has travelled to more than 100 countries.
Keynote Speaker
Dr. Mark Jamison is the Director and Gerald Gunter Professor of the Public Utility Research Center (PURC), and Director of the Digital Markets Initiative (DMI) at the University of Florida. He provides research and International training and research on business and government policy, focusing primarily on information technology and utilities industries. Dr. Jamison’s current research topics include competition policy and regulation of information technologies, institutional development in regulation, and competition and innovation in the information sectors. He has conducted educational programs in numerous countries: Africa, Europe, the Caribbean, and North, South, and Central America. Dr. Jamison is also a Research Associate with the UF, Center for Public Policy Research, and is a Visiting Scholar with the American Enterprise Institute. Dr. Jamison served on the U.S. Presidential Transition Team in 2015-2016, focusing on the Federal Communications Commission. He is the former Associate Director of Business and Economic Studies for the UF, Center for International Business Education and Research, and has served as Special Academic Advisor to the Chair of the Florida Governor's Internet Task Force, and as President of the Transportation and Public Utilities Group. Previously, Dr. Jamison was Manager of Regulatory Policy at Sprint, Head of Research for the Iowa Utilities Board, and Communications Economist for the Kansas Corporation Commission. He led several staff teams in the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC).
Keynote Speaker
Agostino Capponi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research at Columbia University. His research interests are in financial technology, market microstructure, systemic risk, and economic networks. Agostino's research has been funded by major agencies such as NSF, DARPA, DOE, IBM, GRI, Ripple, and Ethereum. His research has been recognized with the 2018 NSF CAREER award, and with the inaugural JP Morgan AI Research Faculty award. His research findings have attracted attention from major media outlets, including Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, Politico, and the Financial Times. Agostino is a fellow of the crypto and blockchain economics research forum, an academic fellow of Alibaba's Luohan academy, and an external fellow of the FinTech Initiative at Cornell. He serves as an editor of Management Science in the Finance Department, co-editor of Mathematics and Financial Economics, and area editor of Operations Research Letters. Agostino is the former Chair of the SIAG/FME Activity Group and of the INFORMS Finance Section, and the founding director of the Columbia Center for Digital Finance and Technologies.
