Devrim Unal, PhD


Dr. Devrim Unal is a Research Assistant Professor of Cyber Security at the KINDI Center for Computing Research, College of Engineering, Qatar University. He obtained his M.Sc. degree in Telematics from Sheffield University, UK and Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering from Bogazici University, Turkey in 1998 and 2011, respectively. Dr. Unal’s research interests include cyber-physical systems and IoT security, artificial intelligence, and blockchain. He has more than 30 peer-reviewed publications in cyber security and has 24 years of experience in the field. Dr. Unal has also extensive experience in large-scale projects on information and cyber security. During his work in Turkey, he has acted as a project manager for the National Electronic Identity project, the National Cloud Security project,  and the Intelligent Systems Security project. During his time in Qatar, Dr. Unal has recently completed three national research projects on “Cyber Security for Next-Generation Healthcare”, “Cyber Security, Monitoring, Diagnostics, and Resilient Control Recovery of Cyber-Physical Industrial Control Systems” and “Qatar Greener Schools Initiative”.
